[Features] - Chinkin "Golden Fuji"
Golden Fuji is an extremely rare and auspicious sight, when Mount Fuji shines golden in the morning sun.
This divine beauty is expressed using Chinkin, a particularly advanced technique in Japanese lacquerware.
Chinkin, which involves carving each line with a blade and then inlaying gold leaf into it, is a craft that requires the precise sense of the craftsman and long training.
The Golden Fuji, which quietly shines on the glossy black curved surface of the piano, changes its expression depending on the viewing angle, exuding a deep sense of grandeur.
It is entirely handmade.
This piano, which allows you to enjoy not only the joy of playing but also the visual beauty, is a supreme masterpiece that has reached the pinnacle of the fusion of music and craftsmanship.
It is an art piece that fulfills all the joys of ownership, the joy of playing, and the pleasure of admiring.

[Production] We will take custody of your grand piano music stand and apply the chinkin (gold inlay) technique. This is a completely made-to-order product. Production time is approximately 4 months (depending on the scope of the work).

[Delivery] We will arrange for a piano delivery company to remove and pick up the music stand from the grand piano. It will then be transported to the workshop of a lacquer artist, where the artist will begin production. After completion, the music stand will be delivered to the grand piano by the same piano delivery company and installed.

[Customization] This design can also be applied to other parts of the piano.
For upright pianos, it can be applied to the upper front panel, lower front panel, inside of the keyboard lid, and clappers.
For grand pianos, it can be applied to the music stand, inside of the keyboard lid, and the lid. Please contact us for details.

Ordering a Custom Design

We also accept custom design orders.
Based on your preferred motif, a lacquer artist will create a design and apply the splendid maki-e (gold lacquer) to piano parts or spoons. Alternatively, you can entrust us with photographs of your beloved pets, family members, or acquaintances, and a chinkin (gold inlay) artist will apply the chinkin to portraits, decorative frames, and other items.
We will proceed with the design while consulting with you.

STEP 1
You can place your order through retone.jp by selecting one of our "Custom-Made Design" products, or you can contact us for a consultation.

STEP 2
Design Consultation Begins: We will begin the design consultation via email or LINE between you, the craftsperson, and our company. Please tell us about your preferred motifs and designs. The craftsperson will then create a rough sketch (monochrome).
If you would like to have photos of your pets or family members incorporated into the design using the chinkin technique, please send the photos to us so we can receive them.

STEP 3
If you would like to have the Saikikou maki-e (lacquerware) applied to piano parts or spoons, we will provide you with a rough sketch (monochrome). Production will begin only after we receive your design approval.

STEP 4
Please transfer the payment to our designated bank account. We will begin production after confirming receipt of your payment.

STEP 5
After production is complete, we will send you your custom-made product along with the photos you provided.

A fusion of Kyoto's traditional maki-e lacquerware and new techniques.

The world of Kyoto's traditional craft, Kyo-maki-e, is depicted with splendor and delicate detail using gold and silver.
Our company has begun creating one-of-a-kind pianos by utilizing the traditional Kyoto craft technique of "Makie" and a new craft called "Saikikou," which uses Kyoto opal, an artificial gemstone.
A new craft that fuses the refined sensibilities of the Japanese people, Kyoto Opal, a new material born in Kyoto, and traditional Kyoto techniques, will create a new space that will be adorned with the "Saikiko Makie Piano," bringing a touch of Kyoto's traditional Japanese atmosphere to any space.

By using new materials born in Kyoto and new methods of expression that utilize them, I hope to further enhance the uniqueness of Kyoto's traditional crafts and help preserve the "authentic quality" of Kyoto's traditional crafts.
Things that can only be made by human hands, things that have been created by human hands, evoke a comforting warmth when you see them.
Our wish is to cherish "genuine quality" forever.
